About the course:

The cognitive turn —driven by two forces: psychological (experimental) involvement and explicit theoretical modeling (often computational) — has fundamentally changed research in all disciplines of humanities. Today scholars of humanities must be in a position to collaborate with cognitive scientists by participating in modeling, experimental design, and data interpretation. This is an exciting new challenge both for humanities and cognitive science. The course aims to give an overview of the trends and methods in this emerging research area and it will be taught by various specialists. Students will not only engage in critical thinking on the role of cognitive science in humanities but also learn how to run interdisciplinary research projects.
